MUTENUS RECORDS is a Los Angeles based indie-record label that was formed in December of 2006, as MUDluscious was finishing recordings on their first full-length album Songs From The Candylandfill. "It seemed like the natural thing to do." The producers along with the band had all grown close throughout the process of these recordings, so there was a trust and a bond between everyone. In addition to that, the collaboration of all the various musicians, mc's and contributors made it essential that the album be represented correctly. So when the time came to put together a business plan the three partners wrote up an agreement, shook hands and then put out a record.
SONGS FROM THE CANDYLANDFILL, is the sound of the city. It's the dude on the corner with a gram in his sock, the man at his desk clocking in and checking out, traffic, smog, sadism, greed, hunger, hustle . . . It's the land of broken dreams and empty promises . . . asphalt, animals, women and karma. Things that make sense like knowing your limitations; and things that we can't make sense of like "chickenrocks", "tangwich", "cup corn", and "cavities." You cannot describe this band or this album by comparing it something you've heard before on the radio. You either get it now or you will get it eventually . . .
